This article explores various techniques to recover missing contacts, guiding you through proven methods for restoring your device's contacts.

Introduction:

Have you recently found missing contacts on your iPhone 16? This can happen to anyone without any known reason. But no worries—you can recover the deleted/lost contacts anytime on your device.

Using different techniques, deleted/missing contacts from the iPhone 16 can be recovered. They can be restored from backed-up iCloud Contacts, Google Contacts, or third-party software without any backup.

In this article, I’ll discuss the possibility of recovering/restoring lost contact with or without a backup and the different proven ways to do so on your device.

Is There Any Way to Recover Deleted Contacts on an iPhone 16?

Yes, it is possible to recover the deleted contacts on an iPhone 16 with or without a backup. Unlike other devices like “Samsung” and “Oneplus” and some other brands, they save the deleted files in the Recycle Bin. But in the iPhone series, there is no such Bin folder.

The good news is that you can still recover the lost deleted contacts, whether you have a contact backup on your device or not.

Possible Ways to Recover the Deleted Contact on iPhone 16

There are multiple possible ways to recover deleted contacts on an iPhone. However, I’ll be discussing the four best proven techniques for recovering lost data on your device.

I’ve discussed the multiple ways to recover the deleted contacts on your device, which are as follows.

Method 1: Recover Deleted Contacts from iCloud

Recovering deleted contacts on iPhone 16 from iCloud data is an instant method. But to recover the deleted contact on iPhone 16 directly from the iCloud backup, you must be sure the contact data backup from the iCloud has been backed up in your iCloud. If you’re sure, you can continue restoring the contact data backup from the iCloud backup.

Here are the quickest steps to recover the lost contact from your brand-new iPhone 16.

  • Open the iPhone screen lock and the “Settings” application from your iPhone apps menu.
  • Scroll down at the bottom section and tap “Contacts” option from the settings menu.

  • Now tap the “Accounts” option from the topmost option and then tap on the “iCloud” option in the next window.

  • Now from the “Apple ID” screen tap “iCloud” from the menu then tap “Show All” option from the “APPS USING ICLOUD” section.

  • Now, scroll down to the middle of the screen and find the “Contacts” option that has already been enabled.
  • If the “Contacts” option is already enabled, tap the “Toggle” button to disable it. Now the pop-up window will appear and then tap on “Keep on My iPhone”

  • Now, your iPhone's “Contacts” sync and backup are disabled. Tap the “Toggle Button” and “Merge” again to enable your iCloud contact backup.
  • This will restore the recently deleted contact files on your iPhone 16 from the iCloud backup to your smartphone.
  • Finally, check if the contact has been recovered successfully or not.

Note:

If the “Contacts” option from iCloud has already been disabled, you just need to enable the toggle on the iCloud backup to fix the lost contact files if it has already backed up your contact data.

If the data hasn’t been recovered yet, follow the very next step to successfully recover the deleted contacts from the “Google Contacts” backup from the “Google Account.”

Method 2: Recover the Deleted Contact from Google Account

The very convenient option to recover the deleted contacts after the “iClound” is from “Google Account” directly. Using this method, you can quickly recover/restore the deleted/lost contact from your iPhone 16.

Before recovering recently deleted contacts on your phone, make sure the contacts you’ve lost are already backed up on your “Google Account.” If you’re sure about this, you can follow these steps to recover lost contact files.

To recover the lost contact on your iPhone 16 from the “Google Contact” follow these steps below.

  • From your iPhone home screen, tap the “Safari” web browser.
  • Now type “contacts.google.com” in the popped-up search bar and tap the “go” option.
  • Now from the “Google Contacts” dashboard, search for the contact you have deleted/lost and then select all missing contacts you want to restore on your first.
  • Once you’ve selected the contacts you want to restore/export to your device, tap the “three dot” icon at the top right corner. Now, from the menu, tap the “Export” option from the drop-down menu and then select the contact format “Vcard” or “iOS” contact.
  • Once you finish, the contacts will be successfully restored to your device.

Note:

From the Google Contacts dashboard, you can search for the specific contact to restore to your device, or you can select all the Google Contacts to export them once.
